I remember this day oh so well, in fact too well. I remember recieving a call and someone said "Have you heard bout the shooting downtown at the courthouse?" "Yes, the judge, court reporter... I didn't give them a chance to finish. My mother is a court reporter for the Fulton County courthouse. I called and called and noone would tell me what was going on. My mother's phone was going straight to voice mail. "Oh my god!" After about 2 hours of not knowing whether she was dead or alive , I finally got through. She said that they were taken to the basement of the courthouse and everything was on lock down. Ok, ...now for my rant! How in the world can a whole police department look like fools! I mean for those that don't know this man broke loose in court, took the deputy's gun and shot the judge and court reporter for no apparent reason. He managed to break free and hit the downtown streets of Atlanta. First, the news said that he hopped the gaurd rail for Marta and was riding the train. Then, said he hijacked a car from the parking deck. Everyone, was searching for this car and guess what..it was still in the parking garage the whole time and he was still running free.

This isn't the whole story, I know a couple more people got hurt, BUT somehow he managed to get to another county and "so happened" to end up at another deputy's house..(believe it was a undercover) he killed him and took his truck and SOMEHOW ended up Wayyyyyyyyy cross town to this apartment complex with this caucasion girl. They supposably talked all nite and she SOMEHOW calmed him down. She followed him to dump the truck..yeaaa okkk. Took him back to her house, next morning cooked breakfast and convinced him she had to see her daughter that she didn't have custody ...hmmmmm Why? You ask? Because, she was a drug addict and considered a unfit mom. There you go.

Anyway, he told her she could go to see her child and come right back, then thats when she supposably slipped off and called the police. They had a police standoff for a couple hours and who shows up? Geraldo! Damnit! The police force shouts..with their guns drawn down on the black man with a size 2T spoungebob shirt on ..lol. The next day this mysterious brave women that lasted all those hours TALKING to a wanted fugitive that just killed three people, was granted with no doubts the reward money. GET OUT OF HERE! He knew this woman yall! For starters if your running from the police your first thought would be to get out the state!

This man made tourists trips around the city and ennnnnnds up in Gwinnett County...approximately 30mins north from the courthouse to an apartment that was not directly off the interstate. Now, if I was this mysterious woman....I would of had my credit and background check, fingerprints, hair folicles pulled..anything to find a reason not to award me. But, this woman that was on probation already for selling and using..yet still found drugs in her apartment..uhh hello "Violation" was still given the benefit of the doubt. Wow! Now here we are three years later and this man has attempted...to break out three times...given brand new cell phones.(200.00+ street value). STILL hasn't made it to trial...What is Going on People! Tell me what you think..

Here's the story...

ATLANTA -- The judge made it official Thursday that the trial of accused courthouse shooter Brian Nichols must be moved out of the Fulton County courthouse.Jury selection in the trial started Thursday in Fulton County, but the trial will not be held there. Nichols is accused of murder four people in a killing spree that started at the Fulton County courthouse three years ago.

Hundreds of potential jurors were called to the court on Thursday. Prosecutors and defense lawyers must select 12 potential jurors out of the pool. He is accused of killing four people: Superior Court Judge Rowland Barnes, court reporter Julie Ann Brandau, Sheriff's Deputy Hoyt Teasley and federal agent David Wilhelm. Nichols surrendered the day after the killings. Thursday’s jury selection will not be the first time jury selection began in the Nichols trial. In January 2007, a handful of jurors were interviewed and selected before the trial stalled. One major area of concern is finding an impartial jury."The jury selection is going to be the most difficult part," said J. Tom Morgan, a former DeKalb County prosecutor.

"They all have to take an oath that they haven't prejudged the case, and that's going to be hard to say." Nichols’ lawyers plan to use the insanity defense in his trial to say he is ultimately not responsible for his actions on the day of the shootings. The defense has already spent over $1 million on the Nichols trial. Those high costs along with delays were some factors in Judge Hilton Fuller stepping down from the trial. However, it was ultimately his statement to a national magazine that led to him leaving. He was quoted as saying, “Everybody knows he did it.”Judge James Bodiford took over the trial early in 2008 and tried to have the venue changed to several other locations.

He tried unsuccessfully to move the trial to the Atlanta Federal Courthouse, the DeKalb County Courthouse, and the Atlanta Municipal Court. As of July, it has been 3 years and four months since the Fulton County Courthouse shootings.

Wow! This sounds like a movie...I can't believe he could possibly get away from a court building filled to capacity with law officers. They need to fire the whole police force and start over! It's really scary because those people who died went to work thinking it would be another ordinary day and ended up losing their lives.

They are going to tear his ass up. You do not kill other officers. He's just signed his eternal torture ticket.

I remember when this happened. CNN was showing it here in NY. I thought this case was over with. Yeah she knew him. It's only because she is white that she received that money for her role. It seemed like he was going to kill who had custody of her daughter for her too.

There is nothing in particular holding up this case. It's just that the legal system takes forever for even the smallest things to go through. I guess we'll have to be patient as it goes along.
