Fox Theater

660 Peachtree Street NE,

Atlanta, Georgia 30308

Built in 1929, The Fox was nearly demolished in the '70s, but was saved to become the premiere entertainment center in Atlanta today. Hosted by Hal Holbrook, this 90-minute GPB Original Production is an engaging journey through the history of The Fox. Vintage photos, archival footage and behind-the-scenes explorations are enlivened by the memories of stars like Jeff Foxworthy, Francine Reed, and Tommy Tune, as well as everyday people.

The Fox has generated millions of dollars for the Atlanta economy. An impressive range of events continues to attract nearly three-quarters of a million visitors a year, from Atlanta area residents to tourists to international dignitaries.

The Fox Theater holds many events such as the stage play "The Color Purple" , "Sweeny Todd" Stand Up Comedy, and hosted several Grammy and Tony Award ceremonies.
